SOME QUESTIONS YOU MIGHT BE HAVING:
Q: Who and what is BungalowBranch?
We are most proud to answer this question because we get to say we are the only in-home child care company and franchise in the country! You know of the large day care center franchises…well, we are the home child care version. What this means is BungalowBranch is a community of systems, tools, resources, and support that helps and nurtures the whole child care provider, personally and professionally. Whether you’re a new or existing home child care provider, BungalowBranch can help start or ramp up your home day care program. Owning and running a business is hard, so why do it alone if you don’t have to? BungalowBranch provides a variety of services and support to our franchisees, from client referrals, marketing, coaching, billing, to how to get your business integrated within your community. Families seek BungalowBranch over most other independently owned home day care programs because they know our brand and reputability we have built for ourselves; plus the measures we take for safety and quality assurance are second to none. We want to make sure our franchisees, as well as our families have an amazing, powerful, and memorable experience while with BungalowBranch and for this we are a community-centered company.
Q: I’d like to join BungalowBranch but I’m not sure if franchising is best for my NEW or EXISTING home child care business right now. Can you help me decide?
The best way we’ve found to determine if franchising will give you the most exceptional results right now is to look at two criteria:
1. What is the current revenue in your home child care business you are growing right now? If you are making under $30K in your business, the benefit to franchising is we can help boost your home day care business’ sales significantly. Of course what you make in your business will depend on factors such as how many children you are caring for, if you’re working full time or part time, the neighborhood you live in, etc. Even if you’re making more than $30k in your home child care business, franchising with BungalowBranch can also dramatically increase your sales due the reputability we have built with our company and brand.
2. How many hours a week are you working? Even if you’re cruising along and making a great income, what are you sacrificing with your time to make this income? By franchising with BungalowBranch, we take over most of your administration duties for you so you can stay focused on caring for your children and continue to enjoy the business you have created. Some of the services BungalowBranch provides to our franchisees include: client referrals, global marketing, client customer service, client contracts, automated client billing, assistance with record keeping, wait list management, client loyalty programs, client follow up and tracking, client database retrieval, business branding, franchisee coaching, and so much more!
By franchising with BungalowBranch, we will give you exactly what you need most right now to get you to the next level of your home day care business and help you achieve the income you deserve. We do this by assessing the following with you: who you are, what your issues tend to be, what you need most right now, what is your best strategy, and next steps. All of our franchisees have different needs, but BungalowBranch offers an array of systems, tools, tactics, and services to meet each and every home child care providers’ needs and wants.
Q: I make good money in my corporate career (example: $50K) but I want to transition into owning a home child care business so I can work from home. Will I make more or less from being a home child care provider?
We’ve found over the years that as an entrepreneur, you experience different “issues” that you don’t always experience when working a corporate career. How much you make as a home child care provider will depend on several factors, some which are mentioned above in the first question. When you work for yourself and are self-employed, comparing how much you make in your home day care business compared to what you made in your corporate job is really like comparing apples to oranges. This is because as a business owner, you tend to have more freedoms then you did in your corporate job. Additionally, your home child care business allows for a lot more tax deductions then what is allowed when you’re an employee for someone else. It really comes down to what is of most value to you and will best help you achieve your personal and professional goals. As part of the franchisee training program and process, we sit down with you and map out your goals to make sure you stay on track with your personal, business, and financial goals; no longer are you in this alone! It’s more common for us to see our franchisees make more in their home child care business than they did in their corporate career or other job, but regardless to how much they make, it’s unanimous that our franchisees feel more enjoyment in their career as a business owner and home child care provider. Remember, it’s not always about the money, but that you also enjoy your life’s work and feel good about what you’re doing everyday.
Q: BungalowBranch and its supportive programs sound great but I think I want to implement all this information on my own before I get started. Is this the right thing to do?
It’s been our experience, from helping other home child care business owners, that when they are left to their own devices to implement on their own, it inevitably fails. Why? Because home child care providers are people who are strong “starters,” eager to begin new things, but not strong “finishers.” On your own, you’ll likely implement some of the elements. However, with the support of a strong team giving you step-by-step guidance, answering all your questions, getting you unstuck when you get stuck, giving you daily accountability, and the unconditional support of a structured environment of peers who care about you, your implementation increases dramatically. Without it, you tend to go back to your old ways of doing things and create slow results. Never delay results you could be experiencing now. This is why at BungalowBranch we are ALWAYS being coached and mentored too. We wouldn’t implement as quickly if we didn’t have that high level of accountability ourselves.
Q: I’m already running my own in-home child care program, so how would I benefit transitioning my current business into a franchised BungalowBranch business?
Great question! As mentioned in the first question, BungalowBranch can help any new AND existing home child care businesses by helping them maximize their business, which inevitably maximizes their profits. BungalowBranch locations tend to be the most expensive home child care programs and more inline with child care center rates because families are willing to pay for the quality and systems we have in place, offering an amazing child care experience for the entire family. In addition to helping maximize a home child care business’ profits, we can also help maximize a provider’s time! Imagine being done with your workday when your last child gets picked up. No more having to return numerous emails and phone calls to prospective clients, collect checks, figure out your own marketing and how to market, face confusing bookkeeping and taxes, manage your own website, the list is endless. With BungalowBranch, you get to be a part of a team of home child care providers who lean on one another for support and advice. Why do this alone when you don’t have to?
Q: I know I belong in BungalowBranch, but I’m not sure I can afford the buy-in right now.
When any opportunity for growth is presented to you, it’s important to evaluate it based on the value and specific results you will receive from it, not from what it “costs.” When looking at their own opportunities for investing in themselves, BungalowBranch founder Kelley Lewis use a ‘4x model’. “If I implement everything that is presented to me in the program, using the expert coaching, step-by-step methods, support, and accountability that are built in, is it likely that I will make 4 times my investment back in the program in the next 12-24 months?” If the answer is “YES!” then indeed, it is a very good investment.
Franchisees are thrilled to report that getting educated through BungalowBranch pays for itself in the form of new clients quickly, and then some, with some franchisees making back their buy-in investment in a matter of months, if not weeks. The structured environment, proven curriculum and coaching ensure that you take action very quickly and consistently. This results in new clients that essentially pay for the program. Obviously if this investment, even at the low installment level, is going to bring financial hardship to you and your family, then you may not be ready. But realize that if it IS within your comfortable grasp, then investing in yourself is the BEST investment there is because you get results that pay for the buy-in and then some, and you can use the learning for the rest of your career.
Q: I want to apply but I’m not so sure my spouse will be ok with having a day care in our home. How do I get my spouse to support me in this decision?
In our experience, spouses who aren’t “in the room” when a new business opportunity is being presented don’t always immediately see the value in the investment and commitment. Typically, the spouse is skeptical and wants to be reassured that this isn’t just another “bright shiny object” for the entrepreneur, but rather something that is going to produce real results and provide a substantial return on investment. We’ve been there and we honor that. When presenting the opportunity to get results with BungalowBranch, it’s important that you share with your spouse 1) what the business opportunity specifically entails, 2) what solutions it provides, 3) what makes it different from other businesses you’ve experienced, 4) the reputability of the company, 5) the number of success stories from others who’ve gone through it and who stay with the company because they get results.
Direct your spouse to view all the testimonials and read the success stories on www.bungalowbranch.com. Your spouse simply wants the best for you, and when you describe what you’ll get and what your return on investment will be, you will likely have full support!
Please also let your spouse know that in most events we offer, they are invited to attend all the meetings for free. This is optional, but we recommend it as we feel that two people on the same page and implementing together is better than just one.
Q: I understand that as a franchisee, I receive ongoing one-on-one coaching meetings and support. How much coaching and support will I receive?
One of the main benefits and perks of joining our BungalowBranch team is all of the ongoing support you receive from corporate and fellow franchisees. Why go at this alone when you don’t have to? When you are a part of our team, you are not alone because you’ve got us! All too often do we hear other home child care providers talk about how isolated they feel and how they’re on the verge of burn-out because they just can’t handle the stress and feelings of being in this alone anymore. As a BungalowBranch franchisee and team member, you have access to 24/7 private BungalowBranch chat groups along with receiving monthly one-on-one coaching calls with BungalowBranch founder Kelley Lewis. We also hold social events around the Columbus, Ohio, area just for providers, fun functions for providers and their families, and we host company parties that includes all providers and their clients! Never is there a dull moment and providers always have access to their direct area coach. Additionally, if there’s something more that BungalowBranch can do for you to ensure you are receiving the support you need, we are always open to hearing suggestions as to how we can better serve you and your business.
Q: Where do the live events and meetings take place? I live out of the Columbus, Ohio, area. How do I receive my training and support outside of BungalowBranch’s corporate area?
Our live events take place in several different places. All initial and ongoing franchisee training through BungalowBranch takes place in Columbus, Ohio, where our corporate office is located. However, we have social events and client events that take place in the areas our franchised locations are located. Some of these events include holiday parties, networking days, professional development days, and company outings. And don’t worry, some of the training events at our corporate office in Columbus, Ohio, can even be accessed via Skype and other online meeting outlets, making attending the training sessions convenient and free of travel.
Q: I’ve noticed some of the franchisees have extensive backgrounds in child care. What if I’ve not gone to school for child development and/or worked in a child care center? Is this the right business for me?
Yes, regardless to how much child care experience you have or don’t have, BungalowBranch and it’s proven training system will help you grow your business to the next level as well as your knowledge on child development. Most of our franchisees are moms, so they have the best early childhood experience because they’ve learned firsthand, through their own children, what infants and toddlers need to grow and develop. Sure, there are things to learn on a deeper level about each stage of child development, but BungalowBranch’s training systems will help fill in these gaps. Even if you don’t have children or you’re an empty-nester, as long as you have a passion for working with children and meet the basic criteria on our application for what minimum child care experience we do require, then BungalowBranch will help get you and your home child care business to the next level.
Q: How many franchised locations are there and what’s the growth plan for BungalowBranch?
Currently we have a handful of locations in the East Columbus (Bexley), Ohio, area. We are looking to expand throughout multiple suburbs of Columbus, Ohio, as well as other cities and states. Our business model works in a cluster, meaning each neighborhood we are in we can have up to 5 BungalowBranch locations within one zip code area. The reason for this is our company’s foundation is built on community and support and the only way to have a supportive community, for both our providers and families, is to have a team and network in the same area, allowing everyone to lean on one another, gaining the support for a successful team. Currently, we are the only in-home child care company and franchise in the country so we are in the process of growing and scaling our unique concept, brand, and company. However, that being said, we are scaling cautiously and only partnering with those providers who share BungalowBranch’s mission and vision. We are a community-driven company and take great honor with a deeply rooted respect in our providers as well as the families we serve. Therefore growing our company the RIGHT way is much more important to us than growing BungalowBranch the fast way.
