HOMEWORK CLUB
Each day your child attends our Before & After School Club, he or she will have the opportunity to work on homework and join our Homework Club! The time to work on homework is built into our daily schedule. If you choose to not have your child work on homework while in our care, please make note of this in your registration paperwork.
Our Homework Club is all about having a positive and fun experience with homework. When you join our Homework Club, you receive your Homework Log and you get to earn points each day you work really hard on your homework (you earn even more points when you help your friends with their homework by listening and being a helpful friend.) When you earn so many points, you can cash in your points to buy fun things (e.g. small toys, gift cards, food, and more!) While working on homework, each child will receive one-on-one attention and care to help work through questions and problems. Homework will never be done for a child and if a child refuses to work on his or her homework, we will not force a child, but do our best to encourage him or her to use time wisely. Any questions or concerns we have pertaining to homework will be notated on your child’s electronic Daily Report.
HEALTHY MEALS & SNACKS
Each day your child attends our morning program, he or she will receive a healthy home-cooked breakfast. We serve breakfast between 7am-8am. Any child who attends past 8am will not be guaranteed time to eat, therefore if you do drop your child off past 8am, please ensure your child has eaten before arrival. Our breakfasts contain at least 4 items: 1 fruit/vegetable, 1 grain, dairy (or juice), and 1 protein. An example of one of our breakfasts: ½ banana, wheat toast with peanut butter, eggs, and 1% or skim milk. Our menu changes daily and what was served and what your child ate will be notated on your child’s electronic Daily Report.
Each day your child attends our afternoon program, he or she will receive a healthy snack. We serve our afternoon snack between 3:30pm-4pm. Any child who gets picked up before 3:30pm will not be guaranteed an afternoon snack. Our snacks contain at least 3 items: 1 fruit/vegetable, 1 grain or protein, and 1 one drink (milk, water, or juice). An example of one of our snacks: cup of grapes, 1 cheese stick, and a glass of water. Our menu changes daily and what was served and what your child ate will be notated on your child’s electronic Daily Report.
