to the safety & security of our children while in our care

We train all of our providers on how to monitor health and safety by structuring clear policies and procedures. BungalowBranch oversees and reviews all of its locations by means of security cameras and on-site visits on an ongoing basis. Some visits are announced, while others are not. This is in addition to state licensing visits.*

All of our locations have a sign-in and sign-out log; a list of authorized adults allowed to pick up a child who must also present verification materials when needed; emergency response protocols and releases; drills appropriate for exiting the house and protection inside the house; injury logs and reports; medication administration logs; and safety training in areas not limited to CPR and first aid, transportation safety, field trip safety, child tracking systems, developmentally appropriate child discipline techniques, communicable diseases, child abuse, and continued education requirements.

INFANTS

Babies’ safety is of the highest priority.

We adhere to all of the American Academy of Pediatrics recommendations for safe sleep. Babies are placed on their backs to sleep in sleep-appropriate devices (cribs, pack ‘n plays, swings, comfy floor mats, etc.) that we have ensured are compliant with the most up-to-date standards. Any cribs used are not shared, no soft bedding is permitted in the cribs, and our highly trained providers complete documented cribs checks on sleeping infants at least every 10 minutes.

Our infant space is baby-proofed along with adhering and always maintaining to proper infant to provider ratios. Infants are often held when bottle-fed, and all toys are age appropriate and sanitized. Extra measures are in place to ensure hand washing and diapering are performed to maintain the highest level of cleanliness. Parents know babies are safe and well-loved in while in our care.

TODDLERS

Highly safe, toddler-proofed spaces are warm and inviting – the perfect setting for children to explore and discover the world.

Proper toddler to provider ratios are always maintained. All toys are age appropriate and sanitized. Extra measures are in place to ensure hand washing, and diapering is performed to maintain the highest level of cleanliness. Toddlers are lovingly guided and encouraged to explore safely indoors and outside on our playground, which is specially designed with active toddlers in mind.

PRESCHOOLER & PRE-K

Preschoolers are encouraged to participate in health and safety measures and learn valuable life skills.

In a cheery atmosphere, teachers support children in practicing and expanding new skills. Proper preschooler to provider ratios are always maintained. All toys are age appropriate and sanitized. Extra measures are in place to maintain the highest level of cleanliness. Preschoolers are lovingly guided and encouraged to explore safely indoors and outside on our playground, which is specially designed for preschoolers. Providers supervise and facilitate cooperative play and collaborative problem solving using age-appropriate materials. Playground safety is a priority, and closed toed shoes are worn by all throughout the school.

SMALL RATIOS & UNMATCHED ONE-ON-ONE ATTENTION

All of our locations adhere to its state’s laws* and guidelines that dictate the number of children allowed per home and per provider. One of the biggest advantages of in-home care is that you know your child will be in a small personalized group, receiving the one-one-one care and attention they are accustomed to at home. The friends and socialization they gain from our small class sizes provide an invaluable experience while making lifelong friendships.

Ohio Ratio: One provider per six children and no more than six children per home.
